Why Aisha does yoga?
When I became pregnant during the COVID-19 pandemic, I realized how difficult it was to find a live prenatal yoga class in my area, even online. I felt wary, like many first time mothers to be, of mindlessly following a YouTube video that didn't take into consideration my specific health conditions, stage of pregnancy, and familiarity with yoga. I yearned to be under the instruction of an experienced yoga teacher, someone who would help me navigate this journey into uncharted waters. Even more, I yearned for a community that I could share my fears with and bond over common woes, a community that often develops when you become part of a recurring yoga practice.
This need was the mother of my pursuit of prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher training.
My goal is to share the knowledge I have gained with birth parents and empower them to make the choices that are right for them. I hope to create an inclusive, diverse, and supportive community that builds each other up at a time of intense vulnerability.
As a yoga practitioner of several years, and now a teacher, I firmly believe that there is a yoga practice for everyone - both expecting and new parents, whether meditative or fitness-minded, new to yoga or seasoned yogis. Let me find the right yoga practice for you.
